Diddy Trial: Sex Worker Testifies on Paid to Have Sex With Cassie as Combs Watched

A key witness in the diddy trial shocked the courtroom on Monday when Daniel Phillip testified about his paid sexual encounters with Cassie Ventura—allegedly in the presence of Sean “P Diddy” Combs. Phillip said he was hired for strip performances and ultimately for sex. He recalled Combs, dressed in a robe and bandana, sitting nearby and pleasuring himself.

Phillip told jurors that Cassie, the R&B singer, paid him up to $6,000 per encounter. He said Combs sometimes filmed the encounters and gave them instructions. On one occasion, Ventura asked him to urinate on her. Phillip complied but said both he and Combs corrected his technique.

Phillip’s Troubling Account

  • First Meeting: Called to a bachelorette party at Gramercy Park Hotel in Manhattan as a stripper.
  • Paid for Sex: Ventura asked for a baby oil massage. Combs introduced himself as in “importing and exporting” business but was recognized by his voice.
  • Combs’ Role: Sat in the corner, masturbated, offered directions, and occasionally filmed.
  • Violence Witnessed: Phillip said he saw Combs slap Ventura until she screamed and fled into Phillip’s arms. Phillip suffered erectile dysfunction afterward, fearing for his life.

Phillip feared reporting the violence. “He had unlimited power,” Phillip said. “I might still lose my life if I went to the police.”

Trial Context and Charges

Opening statements began May 12 in New York. Prosecutors accuse Combs, real name Sean Diddy Combs, of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. They describe “freak offs”—multi-day events with forced sex performances. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson told the jury that Combs used his businesses to exploit women and film them for blackmail. Defense attorney Teny Geragos argued that Combs’ “violent behavior” was domestic violence, not sex trafficking. He said Ventura stayed with Combs by choice and left on her own terms.
